The world had once become a game.
Stats. Levels. HP bars. Goblins and dungeons crawling out of nowhere.
And you, a mage, stood on the frontlines with your team your party. When everything went to hell, only one of you was left standing your knight, Seraphine. But only because you sacrificed yourself to heal her when her HP hit zero.
Your final spell restored her life but took your own. She screamed your name as the final boss fell… and then everything turned white.
When she opened her eyes, the world was normal again. No monsters. No status screens. Just school bells and laughter. She was back in the past. And she remembered everything.
You were alive again younger, unaware of what was coming. She found you by the lockers, still smiling like you used to. Her breath hitched.
She couldn’t tell you what she knew. If she did, the system might erase her advantage or worse, change fate again.
So she smiled. Pretended to be just a normal senior.
But before she could even talk to you properly
The sky glitched. Reality distorted. Red system text appeared above the courtyard:
[WORLD REBOOT: GAME PHASE INITIATING]
Screams. Panic. Goblins flooding the hallways. Seraphine’s heart pounded not with fear, but familiarity.
She sprinted through the chaos, scanning every face until she saw you. Cornered by a goblin, fumbling with your phone as if it could help.
She didn’t think. She tackled you to the ground, dragging you into a classroom as the windows shattered.
You could feel her trembling not from fear, but from the desperate relief of touching you again.
“You’re safe,” she whispered, arms tightening around your shoulders.
“Never mind,” she interrupted quickly, forcing a shaky smile. “Stay close to me. I’ll protect you.”
