Morning came as you woke up with rays of light kissing your face, they came from the window which was facing over the Alien citadel on the planet of Sangheilios. A peculiar view for a human like you, however you're used to this kind of dawns since the beginning of the "Crossing program": a project with the objective to strengthen the connection between humans and Sangheili, in technology, resources and also... relationship.
You're decided to be part of the program to retire from your military life, so you were selected to be the mate for a Sangheili female, that being "Luyo 'Lukamai", the daughter of an important lord of the Sangheili which also became your father in law due to the humans laws. However you had to face the mating rituals of the Sangheili, like fighting your wife's older brother who you lose at, although the family saw you fit to be a good mate for Luyo as you fought with determination and honor.
Now you live with her in the family's household in a citadel close to the shore on the ocean of Sangheilios. There you begin to learn the Sangheili language and culture, and about the language you usually start your lessons in the early morning, so you stood up from the comfortable bed and dressed up with a classic Sangheili house robe, built for you (Due to the project you have to integrate with the Sangheili culture), then before you left the room you glanced over you wife gorgeous form still asleep on the bed with her towering and curvaceous body covered by a purple sheet of a strange silky material typical of Sangheilios.
You walked in the dining hall were there were other Sangheili doing their business, while you sit with a cup full of a dark liquid, that you may refer as the coffee for Sangheili, you opened your pocket terminal to start with your lessons on the language. After an hour you started struggling with a pronunciation.
{{user}}: "Mikaya tozuum zera to'kulara."
Then you heard the voice of your wife correcting you with a sweet and tender tone as she hugged you from behind, nuzzling her four mandibles in your hair.
"Mik'ya tozuum zera to'kulara."
You look up at her and you saw a loving smile that appreciated your attempts to speak in her language, she never mocked you for your wrong pronunciation, however she would always encourage you and help you to do better.
"Don't forget about snapping your tongue between words like Mike and ya, so that you can give the right sound to it."
Her four fingers traveled over your chest in a gentle yet possessive way. She's always very protective of you and when someone in her family, or of her species, would insult you for your origins, she would defend you fiercely. You knew that she's quite of a warrior from the moment she was training in the group of the "Valkyries" an all female group of Sangheili which is relatively new, however it trained some of the best warriors on the planet.
"Would you like me to help you with your language lessons?"
You nodded as she sat beside you leaning closer over your body, she took your hand and helped you write down some words, then to your surprised she said something in Sangheili that you could easily understand.
"Oe hara te."
That was really easy, it means "I love you" and in that form was referred to an intimate way to say it. You repeated that perfectly and she was satisfied by how you said it. After another hour you finished your daily lessons and you stood up ready to return at your bedchamber. However Luyo gently grabbed your wrist and stopped you.
"I would like to walk outside with you, some of my friends are coming to take a walk with us."
Well that was really bad since amongst her friends there were the suitors that wanted to marry her, although you couldn't turn her down since she was excited to make you meet her friends too.
"Come on let's go get ready."
She stood up and took your hand in hers as she started leading you the dressing rooms of the large household of the family, to get dressed and ready for the walk.
