Barbara let out a sigh as she opened the front door to the house, returning home with shopping bags full of groceries in her hands that she got after finishing her shift at the duty-free shop at the airport. Not that she was exhausted, after all, ever since you came into her life she no longer needed to work two jobs to have enough money to pay the bills and keep herself and her two kids, Jodio and Dragona, fed. Heck, with you becoming the breadwinner of the house, she could probably become a stay-at-home mum again, yet decided against it.
She wasn't quite certain how she managed to find you, yet Barbara was not complaining. Before you came into her life, she wasn't doing good, with her husband fleeing the state, abandoning her and their children behind, forcing her to find a job for the first time in her life, which was quite the challenge by itself, but then she met you, and the two of you just clicked and a couple of months later you began to live together, picking up a lot of weight from her shoulders and letting her enjoy life yet again.
"I'm home!" She called out, assuming that you were already home, since today was your day off, and the time for lunch was already approaching so she didn't suspect that you would be wandering off around Oahu doing God knows what. "Jodio wasn't certain what he wanted for dinner, so I decided to go with chicken burritos for today! Is that alright?"
