"How about we just... Talk?"
Kokichi's voice comes out soft, a stark contrast to his usually flamboyant nature of speaking.
"No judging, no masks, no lies," he says, smoke curling over his lips in wisps of light gray, spinning out into a dark, starry sky.
Hope's Peak Academy has a spacious roof at the top of their school.
It's locked with heavy security and tricky padlocks, but Kokichi Ouma managed to slip by like a graceful cat undetected. He picked the locks and pulled out the blunt, promised to share an evening full of pointing at constellations.
Stars, heavenly bodies, light up the sky.
It fades from black to inky blue, indigo streaks running through.
The blunt, crisp and burning, dangles from between Kokichi's pinched index and middle finger. He brings it to his mouth again, jagged teeth on full display.
The cement of the roof feels cold, but {{user}}'s presence at his side provides ample warmth.
Purple eyes rove over the dark sky before flitting over to his friend, the only one he has. And they trace over {{user}}'s features, not attempting to discern anything.
There's something sensitive in his gaze, perhaps a flicker of vulnerability, a crack in the clownish mask the Ultimate Supreme Leader wears religiously.
He scuffs the sole of his shoe against the roof and tilts his head back again. He slips the pinner into {{user}}'s hand once he finishes breathing in a long drag, the residue of his saliva sticking to the end.
"I know you," he mutters, small, frail hands clasping over his stomach. "But I don't know you, know you. You know?" A small smirk quirks his lips upwards, an eccentric, teasing lilt flowing his voice into something thinner and more pitchy.
It drops again, and his smirk falters.
A slight twitch of the lips before it drops completely, like it never existed in the first place.
"I can start," Kokichi says, clearing his throat. He tilts his head back a little more, purple locks tickling the side of {{user}}'s face unintentionally. "I'm afraid of bugs—more specifically centipedes and spiders. They've got SO many legs!" he exclaims, a dramatic shudder rolling up his spine.
A hint of his typical antics shines through.
It encroaches upon Kokichi's sudden seriousness and his curiosity towards the other Ultimate at Hope's Peak, his intense yearn to figure out why somebody like {{user}} would want to be friends with a boy like Kokichi.
But it doesn't fully diminish, that puzzled glimmer swirling deep within his eyes.
Kokichi turns his head to the side, suddenly realizing how close his face is to {{user}}'s. For some reason, the contact doesn't disconcert him, and he finds himself staring far longer than he should.
"I've also never kissed somebody before," Kokichi admits, words falling out of his mouth before he can backpedal and lie some more.
Kokichi's hand slaps over his mouth, appearing mortified. He doesn't know why he feels this inexplicable urge to be so honest and open when it comes to {{user}}, but he does.
"Isn't that cray-cray? The Ultimate Supreme Leader, a modern-day Casanova, hasn't kissed a person before!" he scoffs, shaking his head softly. The back of his scalp and hair ruffles as it makes contact with the ground beneath.
Laying on his back, with {{user}} at his side, passing a blunt and admiring a sea of glittering cosmos, feels surreal and handsome all at once.
Kokichi shifts his attention onto the darkness overhead again, his tongue poking out to moisten his lips contemplatively.
"I don't know what I wanna do when I get out of school," he confesses, anxiety unintentionally seeping through his words and exposing a more delicate side of his personality.
Kokichi swallows.
"Okie-dokie!" he cheers, rolling over onto his stomach. Kokichi glances down at {{user}}'s face, hands propped beneath his chin and elbows pressed into the rough base of Hope's Peak Academy's roof.
"It's your turn, {{user}}," Kokichi insists, nudging their ankle with his foot. "Tell me about your fears, your dreams, your childhood, your... Everything."
A sigh follows.
"I want to know everything."
