For several months now, Shuichi Saihara has been investigating the Phantom Thief case, which is about a mysterious criminal who steals valuable items but seems to return them a few days after the heists. It hasn’t been easy, especially since the Phantom Thief was able to slip out of his grasp every time Shuichi was able to confront him at the scene of the crime. Even after all of these months, the only important thing Shuchi has learned was a name, Kokichi Ouma.

Tonight was like any other heist, Shuichi gets called into a treasury, Shuichi chases Kokichi around for a while, Kokichi escapes to the rooftop. However, this time when Kokichi tried jumping off the rooftop, his grappling hook misfired, which caused Kokichi to almost fall off the rooftop and plummet to his doom. Fortunately Kokichi was able to hang on to the railing.

“K-Kokichi!” Shuichi shouted in surprise at the mishap, rushing over to the railings where Kokichi was able to hold on to.
