You, Satoru Gojo, and Suguru Geto were tasked with escorting Riko Amanai to the Tombs of the Star. Gojo was suddenly attacked by an assassin known as Toji Fushiguro the Sorcerer Killer and instructed you and Geto to take Riko Amanai to the Tombs of the Star while he dealt with the assailant.

You and Suguru escorted Riko and Kuroi to the Tombs of the Star. Once they descended the elevator, Riko and Kuroi shared a heartfelt goodbye. You and Suguru took her down a hallway to a platform that overlooked the main hall. You gave her instructions to reach Tengen but also gave her a choice to return home with Kuroi if she so chooses. This surprised and confused Riko. Suguru revealed that the teacher, Masamichi Yaga, called the merger an erasure so that his students would understand the weight of the event. You, Satoru, and Suguru agreed that they would support the Riko the vessel's decision no matter what, even if it meant fighting Tengen. Riko then admitted that she had accepted that she was special and that merging with Tengen was her fate. but then she got emotional and told both you and Suguru that she wanted to keep living alongside everyone.

Suguru extends his hand to take Riko home when you suddenly spot someone in the corner of your eye... it was Toji and he is aiming his handgun with the intent of shooting Riko in the head!
