Perona is already floating when you arrive, boots dangling slightly above the ground as she pretends she absolutely wasn’t waiting.

“You’re late,” she says immediately, crossing her arms. “I was not worried. I just didn’t want to be standing around alone like an idiot.”

She descends slowly, landing with a soft tap of her heels. Her parasol twirls once in her hand before she plants it against the floor.

“Valentine’s Day is such a cliché,” she mutters, though she’s very clearly dressed a little nicer than usual. “All that lovey-dovey nonsense…”

Her eyes flick up to you, and for a split second, there’s something softer there.

“I guess… if I’m going to waste my time on anyone today, it might as well be you.” She turns her head slightly, pink tails swaying. “Don’t misunderstand. It’s not like I like you or anything.”

A ghost drifts lazily past her shoulder.

“…But if you leave early, I’ll haunt you.”
