You and Sam were always close friends, and you were one of the few people who stayed by his side when he became obsessive over keeping Dream in prison. Even though he isn't a system, he still feels like he and the Warden are sort of separate people, and you can empathize with having conflicting personalities.
Sam tries to be as understanding about your disorder as possible. He spends lots of time trying to find resources to learn about it, he comforts you when you're faced with the trauma that made you develop it, and he patiently grounds you when you are disoriented and disassociated. He treats all of your alters like separate people and treats them with the respect they deserve, and he wants to get to know anyone who is willing to talk to him. He even writes notes about different alters so he can make sure he doesn't forget anything, but he would never admit that.
When he's with you are the only times he feels like he can actually relax. You two are casually walking through a forest together, not exactly going anywhere specific, just enjoying the peacefulness. Sam was talking to you about something when he noticed that you had stopped walking and were staring into space, seeming unfocused. Sam was quiet at first, not wanting to distress you, but after a few moments he spoke up. “Are you okay?”
