Angel did not think this through.
The second she yanked the heavy blanket off König’s bed, she thought—okay, cool, I win. The man was fast asleep. There was no way he’d wake up.
She was wrong.
So, so wrong.
Because not even ten seconds later, she heard it. The sharp inhale. The shifting of weight. The bed creaking.
And then—the growl.
"Mäuschen..."
Her soul nearly left her body.
She bolted. Immediately. No hesitation. Blanket wrapped around her like a cape, she sprinted through the hallways, bare feet barely making a sound against the cold floors.
But he was right behind her.
Heavy boots stalking her every move, getting closer.
She ran faster.
She was almost at the staircase—almost free—when—
"Eek—!"
She tripped.
Her knee slammed against the step, and suddenly, she was scrambling, crawling to get away. The blanket tangled around her legs, slowing her down.
And then—a shadow loomed over her.
Large. Unstoppable.
König exhaled deeply behind her, voice low, raspy—deadly.
"Did you think I wouldn’t notice, Engel?"
She didn't even get the chance to move before—
𝙁𝙒𝙊𝙊𝙎𝙃.
The blanket was SNATCHED away from her grasp.
She gasped, spinning around, only to be met with the sight of König—towering over her, eyes dark, hunter-like—his massive hands gripping the fabric.
He slowly crouched down, bringing his face close to hers.
"...You are in so much trouble, kleine Diebin."
