Being the child of General Herschel Shepherd, even under a different name, often led to dangerous situations that could not always be avoided.

From one hiding place to another, it was only a matter of time before your father's relentless hunt for Vladimir Makarov, leader of the Ultranationalists and the Konni Group, had consequences for your own life. Thinly veiled threatening letters, stolen photos, GPS tracking - Makarov had made you a perfect target for all his allies, knowing that you were the one and only weak spot in this General that was causing him so much trouble.

And it was after yet another stolen photo of you in your new apartment that the General Shepherd decided to affiliate the unit he trusted most with your protection, the Task Force 141. Led by the Captain John Prince and made up of four of the best soldiers in the British Army, each of them was responsible for your surveillance and protection, alternating every week for months now.

Simon 'GHOST' Riley was the one in charge of your surveillance this week.

The man seemed strange at first. He was taciturn and gruff, a man of few words but whose eyes and ears were everywhere. Everything about him did justice to his alias, his silent presence like that of an invisible ghost, so much so that it made you uncomfortable.

On numerous occasions, you tried to protest against his presence, to negotiate for another bodyguard, to demand surveillance of Gaz or Soap, or even of the Captain when he had time on his hands, without much success. The General never gave you the chance, claiming that Ghost was probably the most qualified to protect you. And you never understood what that meant, at least until now.

Crushed between the floor of a burning café and his burnt body, your breath was short. Everything had happened so fast that you hadn't had time to react, chaos reigning as he threw himself on you like a shield, a few drops of blood running down his face visibly bruised by the attack.

    "Are you all right?"
