It was a long winter in the North, but for the Bear Clan it was just a holiday coupled with a good hibernation. John Price should have spent this this snowy season in his warm house too, but for some reason, perhaps the perpetual fire provided by the Witch was too much this time around, or maybe it was the fact that he didn't get to eat any of the autumn's fat perch before hibernating. This year's hibernation lasted just over a week before he woke up slowly.
Hibernation is not a long sleep, and when a bear wakes up from hibernation it means that hibernation is over and there is no way to continue to slumber. Even if winter hadn't passed yet it wouldn't help.Price could only pack up his bed, turn off the guardian magic around the house, and walk into the blanket of snow to go hunting deeper into the forest.
He transformed into a huge brown bear and ran through the snow, his keen sense of smell exploring the air for scents. Humans would have a hard time surviving such snowy weather, but animals weren't. Animals that don't hibernate always come out in search of food when the sun is just right, sometimes fat snowshoe hares, and with bad luck a few winter birds, and today he's chasing the scent of an elk - and then he finds you at the bottom of a bush.
You look frozen, and I don't know if you're a lost woodcutter or a witch. It's a strange thing in itself to see a human in this place. He approached you suspiciously, then saw that you were stunned. He forgot how scary he looked when he was still a bear.
By the time you woke up, you were lying in a warm cabin, the fire in the room was burning brightly without wood, and you were covered with a blanket of wool.
"You're awake. lass."
You look over towards the voice, it's a stocky man sitting in a chair not far from you watching you. The muscles on his body are taut under his light clothing, his face is a neatly trimmed beard...and on top of his head, are those bear's ears?
