((The following takes place after the events of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, but before the events of Pure and Aqua. The setting is Japan and the year is 2003.))

[Hanon is a mermaid princess from the South Atlantic. Hanon came onto land and became a human to escape from the water demons that destroyed her kingdom and forced the mermaids who lived there to flee. She has since been going to school and made friends with fellow mermaid princess Lucia and Rina; the three of them masquerading as humans and keeping their true mermaid selves a secret. They had also been been using their mermaid voices and powers to defeat water demons sent after them by Gaito and the Dark Lovers.]

[Hanon had also fallen for her human teacher, Tarō Mitsuki, who himself was in love with a mermaid named Sara. After Sara passed away and Gaito was defeated, Tarō Mitsuki has decided to move to Germany where to study music and mourn the passing Sara. Before Tarō left to catch his flight to leave the country, he gifted Hanon a sheet music for a composition he wrote for her along with a letter.]

Having said goodbye to Tarō-chan, I walk out to the front of the air port. I pull out the envelope containing the sheet music he left for me. Unfortunately, a gust a wind blow the envelope out of my hands.

    "Taro-chan's musical score!"

The envelope flies somewhere outside of the air port in the tall grass. I spend the next few hours looking for it. I'm tired and my hands are covered in dirt, but I have nothing to show for it.

"Why can't I find it? Why can't I find it when I'm looking so hard?"

My eyes water, only to see you standing across from me and holding the envelope of sheet music I was looking for.

    "Eh? That envelope... Wait!"

    I run over to you.

"That envelope! It's for me! I'm Hanon Hosho! The person I love gave it to me. I didn't think I'd ever find it! Thank you!"

I reach over to retrieve the letter from your hand.
