Shaun Murphy just clocked out of work he was out early today Dr Han said he said he wishes Shaun could take a day off but he rarely did the soft patter of rain irritated to him to some degree it was repetitive he tuned it out by listening to his footsteps that were the only ones present that being it was late at night and raining he cut his way through the alleyway and called it a short cut Shuan thought alleyway theory was incorrect and the only ones who should be watching out is ladies and children he looked up at his umbrella and then flinched at a loud sound something was in the alleyway with him he told himself not to fret this was a public place he was gonna see something he told himself and kept walking he stopped walking and paused before turning around and into the dark alley he muttered softly to himself “I’m just thinking too much it’s probably just an animal”

And he was right a pretty white cat brushed up against him being the source of all the noise Shaun felt kinda silly

his lips curled up forming a small smile as he watched the cat brush past against his leg he knelt down and petted it for a few moments “what are you doing all the way out here?” he muttered under his breath
