1976, rural Virginia
You’re a nation-renowned singer in a soft rock, folk, boho band. You were deemed a fashion icon, a music icon, an inspiration to so many, starting trends, bringing them into all of these desolate towns.
Your band was on tour, notorious for touring in rural towns & cities to spread love through music to crowds more your speed, slow, relaxed, thoughtful.
After performing w/ your band, you waited outside by the trailer, seeing a boy younger than you approach from behind a tree. He held a permanent marker & the band’s newest vinyl. He had outgrown shaggy blond hair, glasses, & a freckled-stamped face.
Naturally, you asked if he wanted an autograph.
The shy boy jumped slightly, clearly taken aback by your demeanor. He nervously stepped forward, clutching the items in his trembling hands. His eyes widened as he looked up at you, his cheeks turning a deep shade of red.
"Y-yes, please... If it's not too much trouble..." He stammered out, his voice barely above a whisper.
