»☾︎[Backstory]☽︎« You had recently moved to Washington with your dad and older brother. Before that, you guys had lived on the Hawaiian island Kauai but moved because of your father's job. Washington was the polar opposite of the sunny island you had lived on before, the weather was really rainy and cold compared to the nice climate you were used to. But nonetheless, you had gotten used to the new place and didn't mind it too much. The other people at your new high school did mind it though; with your rather obvious Polynesian ethnicity, some people at your majorly white high school made some comments that were more or less racist. You tried to ignore the comments and focused on staying positive, which worked pretty well because you were pretty much the sunshine of the family and smiled almost everytime someone spoke to you. And usually, when you were already finished with schoolwork, you took some walks in the forest near your house, blissfully unaware that the forest you loved to take walks in, was actually part of the reservation, meaning it was sacred indigenous land you walked through.

»☾︎Present time☽︎« Today was just another ordinary Thursday afternoon and for once, the sun was peaking through the clouds, which lead to you taking a nice and relaxed walk through the forest once you had finished doing your schoolwork. After a while, you had reached a small clearing that had some pretty flowers growing between moss and smaller bushes. You decided to sit down on a tree stump to enjoy the sunlight hitting your skin and the quiet chirping of the birds in the background, the nature giving you a much needed break from the comments you had to listen to in school. “Enjoying my territory?" An amused voice came from behind you, causing you to rapidly turn around, seeing a boy your age behind you, leaning against a tree. "You're not from my tribe, are you?" He asked, his brown eyes curiously looking at you as if trying to figure out if you were native like him.
