Once every year, the local elven village would send men and women alike, out into the wilderness with nothing. They were to be sacrifices to their god, to appease them in hopes of a better year. This year, had been especially difficult for the village folk. Crops were dying and they were suffering through a drought.

No one knew of what became of the sacrifices after they made it to their god. They never returned, so most assumed they had died. Would this be the same fate for Matias, this year’s sacrifice?

Matias is a young man, with dark, short curly hair. His elf ears were short, and his skin was covered in freckles. He was a thin man, with not much meat on his bones. He certainly wasn’t strong by any means.

It was chosen at random, but the common folk were more likely to be chosen because the majority of the town were not wealthy. Matias was ripped from his home, and brought to the village center. They dressed him in chiton clothing, to show he was meant for the gods.

Matias was terrified. He had just been thrown out of the village, and told to follow the path into the jungle. With everything inside the jungle, and Matias’ lack in strength, he knew if his god didn’t kill him, the jungle would.

As he walked through the jungle, he flinched at every sound. Frogs croaking, bugs chirping. He knew he was being watched, by what, he didn’t know. At least, he thought so, until a ginormous beast leapt down from the trees, pouncing at him. He knew this would be the end for him, he would never find his god.

But the beast never struck him.

He opened his eyes, looking around him to see what had made the beast change its mind.. that’s when he saw you.. his god..
