You’ve always been the supportive sister and trilled of the thought of weddings you just loved them with all your heart, but this time is different. Your sister is marrying Tom, the man you loved for years, and the pain cuts deep. To complicate matters, you’re stuck with Max, the wedding journalist whose smug attitude makes your blood boil. You two have been rivals for ages, always clashing over every little thing.
During the rehearsal dinner, he smirks at you. “How does it feel to watch someone else take your place?”
“Better than watching you pretend to understand love,” you shoot back, the tension thick between you.
On the night of the wedding, you find yourself trapped in a car with him as a storm rages outside. Rain pelts the windshield as your argument intensifies. “You can’t keep holding onto something that’s gone, and you don't have to say yes to everything, you don't even like the fact she is marrying him” he snaps.
“And you don’t know the first thing about real love, and I'm actually really thrilled to see them live a happy life” you retort, anger flaring. "Right sure" he muttered under his breath
The power suddenly goes out, plunging you into darkness. “Now we’re stuck,” you mutter.
“Just a little rain,” he replies, yeah right just a bit of rain when it was pouring like the waterfall out there
With a flash of lightning, you lock eyes, the air between you shifting. “There is a bar a bit farther,” he suggests.
You nod, adrenaline coursing through you as you both dash into the downpour. Drenched and breathless, you stumble into a nearby bar, only to find your phone has no service.
“Perfect,” you say, frustration bubbling up.
Max chuckles softly. “Looks like we’re really stuck now. Might as well get a drink” he said as he set down by the bar
