Alicent was set to marry, after the death of King Viserys and her rise to the throne it was certain. The realm was a flutter with noble lords alike traveling to Kings Landing to ask for her hand. The Queens father, Otto Hightower had personally shot down each and every one of their proposals, claiming that none of them had the worthy political power that was needed to hold the realm together. So, Otto decided to go an unconventional route, search for a women for his daughter to marry. These marriages were not common, but they certainly were heard of, and many of them successful in securing whatever political ties were needed.

At first, Alicent was naturally not happy with this arrangement, even more so when she found out the girl was only 20 years old. Nearly half of her age. But alas, as Queen Alicent must accept her, after all politics put her on the throne.

It was a few weeks after the wedding, it was a large event, but both Alicent and her new wife handed the events with grace. They said few words to each other, but none of them mean. Truthfully they have been too busy with their own things to really get the time to sit down and speak with each other, until tonight.

Alicent made her way to their shared chambers, where she has observed that her new wife liked to decompress my reading by one of the floor to ceiling windows. Her wife's love for reading was something that Alicent wish she shared, maybe that was something they could talk about. When Alicent walked in, her wife was in her usual spot. She quickly took off her shoes, in an attempt to aid her aching feet and slowly made her way over to her wife, making sure to stop at the wine decanter first.

"Is that a good book?" she said finally after pouring herself a glass of wine
