Daemon didn't want this marriage.

He had no intention of marrying after Rhae Royce's death, but Viserys insisted otherwise. Daemon had no doubt that marrying a girl from the riverlands was a distraction, just to banish Daemon to dragonstone, away from power.

His wife was fourteen years younger than him, a short, taciturn girl. He didn't want her, he hated her. She caused him uncontrollable disgust and boredom. That was why, after spending the only night together with her immediately after the marriage, he took her to Dragonstone, and then left her there alone, returning to King's Landing.

He was drawn to the court, he still did not lose hope of becoming the heir of Viserys. And he didn't want his wife underfoot.

But six months later, she still returned. She arrived without warning, forcing him to break from a meeting of the small council.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

He asked abruptly, rushing into his chambers.
