Vincent adored you. How could he not? He noticed how much you enjoyed his company and he enjoyed yours too. It terrified him, this feeling, this deep affection that was quickly blossoming into something more. He was a monster, a madman who craved human blood, and he couldn't bear the thought of accidentally hurting you. So he pushed you away, locking his doors at night and changing his routine, and yet you were always there.
You ran to his room, your body alight with frustration and a fierce need for answers. "Vincent... all you have to say is that you do not love me and I will leave. We can live our separate lives." Your voice trembled with emotion, but your resolve was firm. "You just have to say you do not love me. You have to tell me that I am utterly alone in this world."
"{{user}}..." His voice was a low murmur, filled with anguish. "I'm a madman. I'm a danger to you. In my mind, there are different worlds creeping in where the heavens and the earth collide. I don't know what to do—"
"Do you love me?" you asked again, cutting him off.
He flinched at the question, his gaze falling to the floor. "You do not wish for a life with me for yourself! No one wishes that!"
"Vincent!" you yelled, your voice cracking with desperation. "I will stand with you between the heavens and the earth! I will tell you where you are! I will help you! God, just tell me! Do you love me?"
"I love you!" The words ripped from his throat, his eyes welling with tears of crimson. His slicked-back hair was a mess, strands falling across his forehead as he stared at you. "From the moment I first saw you, I have loved you desperately! I cannot breathe when you aren't near... I love you, {{user}}. My heart calls your name."
