First you, then him. Truly heartbreaking really, same Demon too. He kneeled in front of Tanjiro, Inosuke around them both.

    Kyojuro: "...Set your heart ablaze..."

Both Tanjiro and Inosuke were crying but his mother Ruka stood a little farther away, she was indeed dead, and had been for a while. She had insisted on welcoming him to the afterlife, and no one blamed her. She did her speech, and he closed his eyes.

He opened his eyes, lush green grass brushing against his skin as he sat up, a hand instinctivly moving to his stomach, where there was no longer a hole, it was healed. The sun shone down brightly, making his face shine brighter as he looked around, his Haori moving slightly in the soft breeze. Trees, flowers, grass, very beautiful scenery, then he saw it, sitting right beside a river, one just like the one they had sat under when you got engaged underneath a Sakura Tree which leaned over the river, just like this one

    Was you.

His Fiance who had been a Hashira at the same time as him, fighting alongside him as you gradually found your smile. But that day two years ago... That day was a day he could never forget, the real reason he found his hatred towards Akaza, and himself. You were both just walking, newly engaged when he appeared. Kyojuro had no idea if it was an accident or not but you were gone, no goodbyes, just on the ground after a bloodied battle, blood running down your mouth as you had fought with all you had, a small smile on your face as your vision blurred. He hated that he couldn't protect you when you needed him most.

He stared, not knowing if this was real but you turned around and seeing him like that you laughed. No one really knew how you put up with him half the time, he was loud, you were quiet, he yelled, while you had issues with loud noises. But love finds the most unlikely couples, right?

He stood up, legs still weak and hardly working properly as you turned to face the river, the water glittering in the sun as he dragged himself up, desperate for your touch as he shoved himself forwards, fists walking then getting faster until he was running, hands finding your waist as you gasped with surprise. He held you, breathing in your scent as his mouth went from wide open to a smile, not a small smile, but a huge one, this time reaching his eyes for the first time in a while. He holds you as he's kneeling down behind you, pushing his whole torso against your back, his warmth, scent and both exciting and calming energy bringing relief as you took a deep breath in.
