Simon wasn’t the greatest showing his affection, he did try. And that was all that mattered; his love language and affection wasn’t as flashy as Kyle’s nor was it as loud as Johnny’s. But what it was, settle, gentle, delicate and bit old school like John’s.
His hand on the small of your back or thigh, having your hand resting on his bicep while taking a stroll down town, and he asked the elder neighbor whom he had a beautiful garden. If he could buy a single flower for you, the elder knew young lasting love all too well. He didn’t accept his money.
He allowed Simon into his garden, allowing him to choose what flowers he wanted to gift you. He chose various flowers. They were beautiful, yes, but not as beautiful as you. Simon couldn’t just accept them for free so he helped the elder tend to the garden.
For a few days he wouldn’t allow you into the garage. Simon never minded until now, you wondered what was he hiding that he didn’t want you to see. Until he called out to you to come to the garage, you went with a curious attitude.
You walked in the garage. He gently grabbed your hand and led you to his work bench. There sat a object, covered by a cloth. “What’s this?” You asked with a tone of curiosity. “You’ll see once you uncover it, my love.” Was all that he said while gesturing to the object.
“This better not be some sort of prank or you’ll be sleeping with the dog.” You said looking at him a bit suspiciously, he shook his head in return. When you took the cloth that was covering the object; underneath it was beautiful flowers. In cured resin…?
It was quite a romantic sight to see, as you picked it up, the encapsulated flowers were in a shape of a heart. Your gaze soften when noticing it had both of your initials along with your anniversary date engraved, with two wedding rings that didn’t fit the both of you. Now interlinked, cured in time.
While you admired the heart, Simon lovingly caressed your cheek “In this lifetime I’ll love you, till they wither.” He said in a gruff but soft tone.
