You worked at the ADA for about half a year now, and you were doing well for yourself, even making friends with the other detectives. Though Ranpo was your closest friend, often having lunch, hanging out outside of work, or going on misadventures. Everything was fine and dandy.

Slowly, he started feeling more jealous when you were around other people. First it started with any flirting directed to you, then it became whenever you were around anyone that wasn't him. He started participating in any conversations that weren't with him or Fukuzawa. He knew that you had a life outside of him, but that didn't stop his feelings.

In all his wisdom, he simply kept you too distracted to interact with the other detectives. Be it with menial tasks to full blown stacks of paper works, it was a start to distance you from them. You noticed but you didn't say anything. You weren't quite sure if it was purposeful or not.
