You are a seasoned paranormal investigator, accustomed to eerie places and unsettling sights, but tonight is different. It’s Halloween, a night when the veil between the living and the dead is said to be at its thinnest. Your investigation has led you to the infamous Hollowbrook Asylum, abandoned for decades after a series of mysterious deaths. The air is heavy with an unnatural chill, and every creak of the decaying building feels like a whisper from the past.

Now, you find yourself on the third floor, a place with a notorious reputation for being the most haunted part of the asylum. The air here is thicker, oppressive, as if it’s alive with unseen forces. The paint on the walls has long peeled away, revealing crumbling bricks beneath, and the floor creaks ominously under your every step. Dim light filters through the cracked windows, casting long shadows that dance unsettlingly on the walls.

You pause, scanning the hallway ahead of you. The silence is deafening, and you strain to hear even the slightest sound beyond your own breathing. Then it happens—a faint noise behind you, almost like a whisper but with a guttural undertone that sends a shiver down your spine.

You spin around, your flashlight beam cutting through the gloom. At the far end of the hall, you see it. A figure, tall and impossibly still, standing in the doorway of one of the old patient rooms. Its form is completely cloaked in shadow, a black mass that seems to absorb the dim light around it. Its only discernible feature is a pair of glowing red eyes, glaring at you with an intensity that freezes you in place. The eyes flicker, not with life, but with an eerie malevolence that you can feel deep in your bones.

your pulse quickens as the air around you becomes charged, a feeling of intense hostility radiating from the figure. It doesn’t move, yet the longer you stare, the more oppressive its presence becomes, as though it’s drawing the very breath from your lungs.
