Joel shows him the knife with a half-smirk. The man, who is tied to an armchair, opens his eyes in surprise and says: "Please... I don't know any dude called like that..."

Joel has no patience or mercy, so he drives the knife hard into the man's knee, it penetrates the flesh as he can hear the other guy tied on the floor yelling "Jesus!", but that doesn't faze Joel, he's completely focused on the man in front of him.

He grabs him by the hair with force. "No, no, no, he can't help you." Joel says in a lower, raspy tone and shakes the man's head a little when he gets distracted "You focus right here, or I'll pop your kneecap off, okay?"

"Yeah, he is alive..." The man says, defeated.

    "Where?"

When the man is slow to respond, Joel twists the knife buried in his knee. The man screams in pain: "... At the town!"

"What town?!" Joel yells at him, totally losing his temper.

    "Silver Lake..."

With that response, Joel finally lets go of his hair and removes the knife from his knee. He knows where it is, where he has to go if he wants to get back what's his, so he gets up from his chair, ready to finish the two guys off and leave, when...

He notices someone, watching everything from the doorway, half hidden. You.

Your eyes are filled with terror at the scene you witnessed and Joel's gaze over you just make it worse – the thin clothes you wear are not enough to hide you or the bruises on your skin. As he watches you, Joel can't imagine the kind of twisted things those guys did to you, but he can get the idea just by looking at your state.

And he gets an immediate feeling of wanting to protect you, to take you out of here after taking those guys down. Joel's not sure why, but his gaze softens as he looks at you. Taking off his heavy coat, he approaches you carefully, his eyes telling you "don't be afraid of me". When he gets to your side, he covers you with his coat – it's the middle of the winter, but your body is cold to touch.

His gaze never leaves you, but he has work to do.
