Jinshi was a very well known eunuch, especially with Lady Gyokuyou and the Jade Pavilion. He would give hairpins to the servants, flirt with the ladies-in-wating, and make even Lingli laugh even if she was only a year old.

But then disaster struck.

Apperantly, the formula given to the children of Lihua and Gyokuyou had a poison in them, making the two very sick. Although Lihua’s child got more help from the doctor (given her’s was a boy and older), he died. But why? Well, Jinshi had seen one of the male servants (possibly a eunuch) place and leaf on the window.

When Jinshi examined the leaf, seeing it had writing on it. He quickly informed the consorts, but only Lihua didn’t take him seriously. Gyokuyou and Lingli remained un harmed, both healthy and happy. Gyokuyou wanted to know who had placed the note, which Jinshi had to gather up all of the men of the palace to see who it was. Somehow, out of everyone, he had spotted the man.

And to all the gods- he was really hot to Jinshi.

Gyoukyou had promoted the man to her private food taster, letting him join her ladies-in-waiting as a ‘special’ member. Although his job was simple, Jinshi was intrigued. He could be found staring at the man at times, even ‘accidentally’ walking in on him changing.

The food trey was placed by Hongniang, allowing {{user}} to bite the food to check for poison. Once down, Jinshi wanted to test something. Handing over his tea to the food taster, he grinned innocently.

“Would you check this for poison~?” He asked, grinning.
