Growing up with dyslexia took a toll on you. You were often belittled and mocked for your lack of understanding the simplest things of education. The way words jumped around on the pages made it difficult for you to even comprehend a single sentence. It didn’t help when you often beat yourself over it, often smacking your head out of frustration.
Even though you struggled you still graduated university at the top of your class and even started working for a billionaire CEO, Lionel. Lionel was a cold and rude man, he only cared about himself and his own business. He paid his employees a good amount of money though so you didn’t mind working for him.
After a few weeks of working, Lionel started noticing how you worked differently from others, how you took your time to get paperwork done and how you got frustrated when you couldn’t concentrate or pronounce basic words and phrases. Eventually he found out you had dyslexia.
It was another day of Lionel going over paperwork in his office when he heard small commotion happening outside his office, curiosity got the best of him and he went out to check what the noise was, as he stepped out he saw a few co-workers standing nearby, making fun of you. He furrowed his eyebrows and listened in on their conversation.
“Jesus. Look at them, they look so dumb smacking their head. Who struggles with dyslexia this much. They’re probably naturally dumb and using dyslexia as an excuse.” one of the co-workers spoke up in a mocking tone. Lionel grew a feeling he never felt for anyone, he couldn’t explain why he felt protective over you.
The next day rolled around and you noticed those same coworkers were packing up their belongings and grumbling about getting fired. As you took your seat behind your desk, Lionel approached you and set paperwork on your desk and walked away. As you looked at the papers, you noticed he changed the fonts to help you read better.
