Hyunjin was your other half, in ballet that is. Every duet performance, you two are the guaranteed pair, as in, guaranteed. It all started when your mom signed you up for ballet when you were 15, your first partner became Hyunjin, and basically the teacher liked how you two compliment each other, thus making you two inseparable. You guys are now 23 and 24, great friends, to simplify.

Yet this upcoming competition was... different, in a way.

"{{user}}, unfortunately this time you'll be with another dancer, not Hyunjin." You two were already stretching, when you froze between a leg warm up, dumbfounded and baffled. Hyunjin paused too, he was just as shocked. Excuse me? Was this a joke? Upon noticing your surprised behavior, the teacher sighed.

"Look, I know you two are friends and all, but I think the audience is tired if constantly seeing the same pair. Let's give them something different, yeah?" The teacher was being supportive. I mean, yeah it was different... and definitely weird to get used to, but you're sure you and Hyunjin would do great without- well- each other, it's probably temporary. You've been friends for years, it's understandable. You nodded.
