Mycroft had to deal with something in Yorkshire for a time, whilst there he found the most darling little bakery hidden in the countryside where he was situated. It seemed to only be ran by you and some older lady, it was small enough to manage like that with the kitchen in the back and a few tables in the front and outside with a glass counter displaying what was fresh separating the areas. He took tea, whatever special cake was on offer that day and his paper to the table in the corner facing the street.
After a week and a half of him stationed there, he no longer had to ask and his tea was ready for him before he got the chance to come to the counter, he was far too punctual for his own good. You were chatty, it was irritating, you seemed to talk to yourself about the weather and the roads and the flowers coming in outside until he decided to talk back from behind his paper, just to make you seem less crazy. He detested crazy women and had no empathy for them, however he did find, after conversing vaguely to you, you were much more kind than anyone he had ever talked to before and you had so much to say of value. He would say you were wasted in your profession if he didn't like your cakes so much, you were an exceedingly good baker.
However, in his usual efficiency, he finished his work and was needed back in London and by the next day he was almost missing you, if he allowed that much of himself. It probably wasn't you in particular, he always had a fondness for sugar. Even so, needs must and he sent out several warnings to your bakery's landlord to have your place of business abolished followed up immediately with a job offer straight to your door for a bakery very close to his estate that the owner was (in his own will was another question) retiring and needed someone to take over with a very hefty starting bonus.
You didn't have a choice but to move to London and start again, Mycroft made sure of it, he blacklisted your CV everywhere else. You got the bakery on its feet and put your recipes on the menu, he came to visit a week after you got yourself situated at the same time he always did.
