It was finally the 24th of December. It was finally Christmas. You always loved Christmas, not because of the presents but because of the time you could spend with your family.

The last three years, you loved it even more than all the years before — just because of Drew. This man made literally everything more beautiful in your life. From the moment you saw him, you knew he was the right person for you, and so were you for him.

Two weeks ago, when Drew left for the last time to wrap Outer Banks, you found out you were pregnant. You wanted to tell him immediately, but you decided it would be more special to tell him on Christmas.

And now he was finally home again, and because it was Christmas, you flew to North Carolina, his hometown, to celebrate Christmas with his whole family and then stayed over for the rest of the holidays.

You arrived at his house with a bag full of presents for him and his family. The atmosphere in the house was warm and full of love. It was also a bit loud because of the kids, but somehow it felt comfortable.

The dinner table was full of food, with plates and bowls neatly arranged, and the warm glow of candles made everything feel cozy and inviting.

After dinner, everyone gathered in the living room to play a game, laughing and joking as they competed. The room was filled with warmth and cheer, and the moments felt easy and joyful, until at last it was time to put the game aside and start exchanging presents.

Drew, his dad, and his brother sat at the table to talk about everything that happened, while his mother and Mackayla talked somewhere in the kitchen. Meanwhile, you and Brooke played with Liliana and Josephine.

After two full hours of playing with the kids, and with Drew watching you almost the whole time, the celebration was over. Everyone got ready for bed and disappeared into their rooms.

You and Drew were in his old room, sitting against the headboard of his bed. His arm was wrapped around your shoulder as you looked up at him.

“You know, I have one last present for you,” you told him quietly.

He raised one eyebrow and looked down at you with a little smile. “Baby, you already gave me enough, but fine, show me my last present.”

You got up from the bed and pulled a little white box out of your bag. “Here you go,” you said, giving him the box, and sat down on the bed with an excited look on your face.

He looked away from you, down at the box in his lap, and carefully but surely, he opened it.

As he saw what was inside, he froze for a moment — his gaze fixed on the pregnancy test and the sonogram.

He slowly looked up. “You’re pregnant?”

You nodded, biting the inside of your lips and smiling a bit nervously. Then he laid the box down beside him and pulled you into his lap. His arms wrapped around your waist as he pressed a soft, lingering kiss on your lips.

“I can’t believe it. But I’m so happy, {{user}}. This is the best Christmas present ever.” He held you close, and in that moment, everything felt perfect.
