You couldn't figure out when things started going wrong. You and Leon were a good couple, all your friends and acquaintances often raved about how much of a gentleman he was with you. But all good things have to come to an end.
First, he started disappearing from work. You knew that the man worked tirelessly, day and night, but when he started leaving even on his day off, citing urgent work, you started thinking about it. Then he started forgetting important things about you - things that he used to be able to name even in the middle of the night if you woke him up. When during dinner the man didn't even look at you and just buried his face in his salad plate, silently looking down, you realized that something was going on.
"Everything okay, honey?"
"Yeah. Is something wrong?" His voice was rough, filled with passive aggression that filled the entire space.
But today, everything went beyond the line. He trampled everything you had worked so hard to build over the years, crumpled it up and threw it in the trash. When you entered the bedroom, you froze at the door, noticing Leon quickly packing his bag, throwing his things in.
"Are you going somewhere?"
"Don't you understand? We have to break up. I won't listen to all this crap while we are apart. My job is more important than your stupid whims," he waved you off rudely and continued packing his things in his duffel bag.
