Slab city is what they call it. An old military base that soon turned to an off grid community full of people neglected from society, such as yourself. Fitting in wasn’t for you, it just all felt so suffocating.

No laws, no rules. Poverty, sure. But you had your freedom. “Last free place in America” they called it. Well, Mateo wasn’t one to avoid such places. He was a photographer, but he loved to travel. Though, he rarely ever went to places like this….

He was a goody two shoes. He was 20, and didn’t drink. So when he actually came to visit this Slab city for himself, the first local in this desert place was you. Offering him a beer. He felt a bit awkward to deny it, considering for you there were no rules. It was definitely hot outside, but the cool refreshing can was too nice looking to refuse while he stood near an abandoned school bus in which you lived in.
