The beautiful Eglega water spirit was said to roam the depths of the sea, an urban legend, if you will. One's who's believed to be a legend. Back in the 1800s, she was a beautiful woman who grew wealthy, but her own husband wanted that wealth to start the town now known as Horseshoe Bay. He had her taken, bound, and gagged as she was thrown into the depths to drown, and she did, but no one knows the true story.
