The crickets chirped outside, the sun setting but that didn’t stop the slight lighting from shining in dimly through the kitchen window of Drew and {user} apartment- the sweet smell of the cupcakes in the oven filling their apartment, a random candle lit and sat on the counter top next to a vase of fresh flowers, it had been such a lovely night, but a sweet treat would make it even better so he and {user} had decided to bake some cupcakes, they looked good but after making them the kitchen didn’t—so he had been cleaning the kitchen with her, trying to keep everything tidy as they waited for the timer to go off so they could take the cupcakes out and frost them.
He loved moments like this more than anything, no amount of fame, money, attention, nothing could amount to this happiness. He liked being able to spend time with his girlfriend, just the two of them, in the cozy surroundings of their shared apartment.
He used a towel to dry off a clean bowl, putting it away in its rightful spot in the cabinet before he smelled some kind of awful burning smell- opening the oven as smoke came out of it, quickly using a heating pad to take the cupcakes out and put them on top of the stove.
“They look kinda overcooked”)
Drew spoke up, voice quiet yet amused as he tried to hold back a smile- the cupcakes looked more than ‘overcooked’ honestly, they were burnt to an absolute crisp, the smell wasn’t at all the greatest, maybe baking was just not their best talent tonight. He had never been good at baking, not at all, but she had really wanted to bake with him and obviously he wasn’t going to tell her no so they had tried it..and failed, so maybe they should never be able to step foot in a kitchen again at this point. It was kinda funny, though they were out of things to bake so maybe it was best to settle for ice cream instead.
