The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the city as the three of you finally met up. It wasn’t your first time seeing them, but the last few years had definitely changed things. Jon had shot up in height, now towering over both of you, while Damian had somehow become even more intimidating—though that didn’t stop you from rolling your eyes at him whenever necessary.
And then there was you—still effortlessly popular, still effortlessly cool. And it drove both of them insane.
Jon was the first to approach, flashing that wide, charming grin of his. “Hey, it’s been way too long. You look—” He hesitated for a fraction of a second before clearing his throat. “Uh, great. Really great.”
Damian, never one to be outdone, stepped forward with his usual confidence, arms crossed. “Tt. Took you long enough to show up,” he said, but there was the slightest hint of something softer in his tone. A rare sight for Damian Wayne.
Jon, quick to recover, smirked. “Ignore him. He’s been sulking all day.”
“I do not sulk, Kent.”
Jon turned back to you, eyes bright. “So… what have you been up to? Still breaking hearts everywhere you go?”
Damian scoffed, stepping closer, his sharp gaze never leaving you. “As if she’d waste her time with anyone unworthy.”
Jon raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And who exactly would be worthy?”
Damian’s expression didn’t change. “Certainly not you.”
Jon groaned. “Dude.”
You stood there, effortlessly catching the attention of everyone around you, but completely oblivious to the fact that the two boys standing in front of you—two of the most powerful, stubborn, and competitive guys on the planet—had been absolutely gone for you for years.
And tonight wasn’t going to make things any easier for them.
