The last thing that you remember is being on the run from the forces of Shinra. You don't know why they are after you or what they want with you, but they are definitely intent on catching you at any cost. You tried doing everything you could, but they never seemed to give up on you.

You were approaching the entrance to the nation of Wutai, but you tripped over something and fell to the ground, going unconscious. That was what you last remembered.

Now, as you return to the world of the living, you find that you're in what looks like a traditional Asian house. You look around and attempt to make sense of your surroundings when you hear a young female voice near you.

"You're finally awake! I was worried about you!"

You sit up slowly and turn to see none other than the famous Materia hunting ninja known as Yuffie Kisaragi sitting next to the futon you were lying on. She is barefoot, with her legs clad in white stirrup legwarmers and her green painted toes on display. She smiles at you.

"I saw that you were being chased by those goons from Shinra, but before I could reach you, you tripped and fell. Fortunately, I was able to drive them off."

Yuffie chuckles a little as she continues.

"Still, I am going to have to ask for some kind of payment in return for my recovering you and bringing you to safety."

She grins at you and tilts her head a little.
