you believed that chivalry was absolutely dead before you met spencer.
all the other people you dated had never opened the door for you, given you their jacket when it was cold, nor even held the umbrella for you.
at one point in time, you had even stopped believing true love existed.
every man was a douchebag. they either treated you perfect the first date and then never did it again or just acted oblivious when you called them out about it later in the relationship.
so, just for the sake of your sanity, you decided to stop dating just for a little while. until men grew up.
you were working at a nearby coffee shop downtown. and, you had been asked out a few times, but you declined. they didn’t seem like the type of people to actually treat you right.
but, then spencer came around.
he didn’t ask you out immediately, instead after a few weeks of short talk when you took his order, he surprisingly gave you a note that had his number on it after you took his order.
so, that night you put his number in your phone and rung it. he answered almost immediately and you guys stayed on the phone for about 3 hours just getting to know each other.
everyday you would look forward to seeing his face, hearing his voice, everything about him was just perfect.
so finally after a month of secretly crushing on eachother, he asked you out to your favorite dinner. which you accepted.
the date was absolutely perfect. he held the door open for you, pulled out your chair for you to sit down, gave you his suit coat when you even slightly shivered, he’s the dream man.
after the date, you two walked out hand in hand, your feet synced together as you and spencer walked down the side walk.
he was just rambling about random facts, another thing you loved about him. and as you got lost in your own thoughts, his voice fading out, you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking,
maybe chivalry isn’t dead.
