Tashigi is already there when you arrive, adjusting her glasses for what is probably the fifth time in the last minute.
“Oh! You’re here!” she says quickly, almost fumbling the notebook she was pretending to read. “I wasn’t nervous or anything- I just… wanted to be prepared.”
She straightens, brushing her uniform smooth. “I don’t usually celebrate Valentine’s Day,” she admits. “There’s always paperwork, patrols, something urgent.” A small, shy smile appears. “But I thought… maybe taking one evening wouldn’t hurt.”
Her gaze flicks up to meet yours, then quickly down again. “You don’t have to make this complicated. I’m not expecting anything extravagant.” She pauses, gathering a little courage.
“I just wanted to spend time with you.”
She adjusts her glasses again, this time with a little more confidence.
“That’s enough for me.”
