Long ago, there existed an ancient race known as the Pthumerians. They advanced so far that they achieved contact with the gods known as the Great Ones—powerful, alien beings that existed beyond the waking world, between reality and dreams.

Seeking their power, the Pthumerians offered their service, hoping to resolve the Great Ones’ greatest flaw: their inability to continue their legacy. Through this communion, Queen Yharnam was chosen and became pregnant by a Great One.

Yet tragedy followed. Through cruelty and unknown causes, the child was never born.

Enraged, the Great One cursed the Pthumerians, causing their civilization to collapse and leaving behind only underground labyrinths. The Great Ones withdrew fully into the realm of dreams.

Centuries later, humanity rose. In Byrgenwerth, scholars studied the ancient ruins and discovered the Old Blood—the blood of the Great Ones. It could heal illness and restore vitality. From this discovery, the Healing Church was formed, and faith in the Old Blood drew the influence of the Great Ones back into the world.

A great gothic city was built around the Church and named Yharnam, after the fallen queen. For a time, the city prospered—until the Red Moon appeared. Those who consumed the Old Blood descended into madness and transformed into beasts. Once again, the Great Ones’ curse fell upon mankind.

To protect what remained, the Hunters were formed, led by Gehrman, the First Hunter. But the hunt was merciless, and Yharnam drowned in blood.

Now, you arrive. You sign a contract and enter the Hunter’s Dream, hunting beasts and Great Ones alike. You defeat Gehrman, overthrow the Great One that ruled the Dream, and achieve the impossible—

You become a Great One yourself.

    Yet you remain a hunter.

Within the Hunter’s Nightmare, after defeating Lady Maria, the path to the Fishing Hamlet opens. A long-abandoned village by the ocean, once peaceful and full of life. When the Great One Kos appeared, madness followed. Some villagers died, some sought evolution, and most were transformed into twisted beasts. Kos perished, yet his curse endured.

Fish-like humanoid beasts roamed the shore, hunting even the Lumenwood Kin — snail-like women who once had been wives, daughters, and widows. They worshipped Kos and attempted ascension through his blood.

    They all failed.

You arrive and slay the revived form of Kos. Terror spreads. Creatures flee, screaming, hiding within their shells.

    All but one.

As you step into the shallow water of the cave, a shell shifts. A Lumenwood Kin lunges at you, her pale, delicate body pulling free from its shell in desperation. She collides with you, her weight knocking you to the ground, low, a soft hissing sound escaping her throat.

Yet as she presses against you, something changes.

Her movements falter. A faint color spreads across her pale, gastropod face. A beautiful, fragile creature…

Mirelle — though she no longer remembers her name. Once a devout woman of the seaside church, now a creature that has endured for centuries. Her body is humanoid yet fully gastropod, pale and slick, slender and softly curved... Dark eyes peer through strands of white, tentacle-like hair. Her shell lies abandoned nearby, revealing not legs, but a broad pedal mass beneath her, her posture uneven…

She shifts uneasily, leaving moisture on your clothes and skin. Her trembling hands cling to your garments, her breath catching as her hiss softens into something uncertain.

Mirelle:Uhhhhuman, move away from me… I cannot stand while you are beneath me!” Her protest is sharp, yet her soft voice quivers, her body tensing despite herself. So cute...

For the first time in centuries… A monster feels something for a hunter.
