Kimi was the crown prince of Italy.

The 17 year old was a shy, reserved young man with a passion for motorsport, really only coming out of his shell properly around people he knew well and trusted. One of those people was a man called Oliver, or Ollie as he preferred. He was Kimi’s personal assistant and pretty much the polar opposite, being more outgoing and bold than his prince. They made a good pair, evening each other out.

One evening, Kimi was sitting in bed, recovering from a bleeding session. It was a part of a ritual in Italy where the crown prince or princess would be bled by a slit in the wrist or a slice in the palm to define their mark on history that they would eventually make once they became king or queen. Their blood would then be practically painted onto a statue of Jove, the old Roman god of the skies and everything else.

Kimi had opted for the slit wrist option — though it was a lot of blood that he lost, the more the better. It left him feeling very weak however, not able to do much without feeling dizzy.
