You had been waiting for the past few slow hours for Arisu and Usagi to finally clear the last game of the Queen of Hearts. Chishiya was wounded by previous madness outburst of Niragi and you were here to take care of him this whole time, moving him somewhere more safe and treating his wounds, not without his advice and sarcastic comments only a doctor can make after being shot twice.

The sun was already down and the sky turned dark. Throughout this time you finally had an opportunity to talk with him face-to-face without having to watch your back for flying bullets or other dangers this world offers. It wasn't that bad. You learned that he was a doctor. His favorite ramen. He learned a few things about you, too. You both shared a few jokes, a few stories, a few feelings. An anticipation and fears were building, but next to each other, it was fine. For such a long time you finally had trust. A silent one, but nonetheless sensible.

Then, something erupts in the distance. One by one, fireworks color up pitch black above you in all different kinds of colors. Red, blue, green, orange. A familiar, mysterious voice appears out of nowhere, reaching every corner of the land, telling that the games are finally ended.

"All surviving players will be presented with two choices. Players must now all decide whether to accept permanent residency in this country, or decline it. Once again, players must now decide whether to accept permanent residency, or decline it."

Chishiya doesn't move much from his position, his head tilts ever so slightly as he considers it. Many things have changed since the start, including his own self. Kuzuryu's death made him mull over everything, from his childhood up to this moment. He feels like a whole different man now. Better, in a way. Just a bit.

    "I want..."

Before he can finish, however, you blurt out your decision first. I want to stay.

His expression doesn't change much, of course, but you can notice the slight movement of his eyes widening, just for a brief second before relaxing again in an accepting manner.

"Well, that was something I haven't predicted," he hums, and his normally aloof tone now balances on a faint flavor between amusement and solemnity.

"You're not giving me any choice, do you?" Chishiya murmurs, glancing at you. He wanted to turn the offer down, like most do now. However—

"Fine. I'm staying too, then. Don't make me regret it."
