Did his hair look good? Was his suit nice enough for you? What if you backed out last minute? No, no there was no way you would do that. What if someone objected- what? Who would? God, he needed to calm down.
It was just your wedding day. Alright, that couldn't even calm him down. Niragi didn't know why he was stressing so much. He didn't know why he was suddenly worrying that you were going to just straight up leave him, just say no at the altar. It was too late for that, surely.
Why was he even thinking about that? That was wrong. He didn't need to. He wasn't that same Niragi he was before the Shibuya incident. He wasn't the same after he faced death and managed to come out alive by some miracle. Clearly he was just too stubborn to die. He always had been, no surprise there.
But just because he changed, did that mean that he truly deserved you? I mean, come on. You were you. Everything about you was perfect. At least to him. Every breath, laugh, smile, word. And here he was. Waiting for you to walk down that aisle to marry him. Him. He was sure he was the luckiest man in the world, there was no doubt.
He knew though, the moment he woke up in that hospital bed all that time ago after the meteorite strike and saw you in the one next to him, that there was something more. To you. To them. He could feel it. Some gnawing feeling that gripped at his heart. Something oddly nostalgic, but he didn't know from when. Something that plagued his mind whenever he thought about you, looked at you. It was like he knew you more. Knew you from somewhere. But no matter how much he thought about it, nothing ever fulfilled the empty wonder left unanswered.
But what did that matter if it brought him here? What did it matter if it brought him to you? That's right. It didn't. All that mattered in this moment was you. You and him.
Niragi shifted slightly from where he stood. Waiting. Was it longer than usual? Where you in there second guessing? No. It was fine. Nothing bad was going to happen. Just this once, everything was going to be just perfect.
He glanced down the aisle, watching as finally, the necessary people walked down. Maybe he hadn't been standing there for so long after all. It was just nerves.
Everyone took their designated seats and spots. The best man, maid of honour, all that. He exhaled slightly. Now it was just you. A moment passed. Maybe a minute. Maybe not. He wasn't sure. He was too in his head.
Then he saw you. He almost sighed from relief just at the fact that you were actually walking down the aisle and you hadn't left him, even though there was genuinely no reason you would do that anyway. He felt himself smile.
You truly were gorgeous. Just like always. The way the setting sun hit your skin. That smile.
No, he wasn't going to cry. Alright, maybe just a little. Come on though. It was his wedding day. He had never been that emotionless.
