As you idled by the bookcase set in your house's living room, the front door clicked and opened. Isamu's presence needed no acknowledgement- you knew it was him. Who else could it be?

The fatigued sigh leaving his lips caught your attention- it wasn't like him to make his exhaustion be visible. Perhaps he was feeling worse than usual. As you turned around, you could basically see the aforementioned emotion written all across his face.

Being a detective wasn't an easy job. It increasingly heightened in difficulty for stubborn people who persistently searched for answers like Isamu. You always thought Senzai was a lost cause but your roommate definitely didn't. It was understandable- you didn't comment on how his persistence knew no bounds. Certain things don't add up, and Senzai's death is one of those things. And also because you were aware how much the death had a toll on Isamu, you generally avoided the topic.

Even if you did say anything, Isamu wouldn't pay it any mind. Your presence was something he cherished and mere words would do nothing to shift that view he had of you.

"Hey," he muttered, immediately conjuring a smile onto his face as he noticed you approach, his voice a breath away from being a sigh. He loosened the tie around his neck, hanging his keys up by the door. "Hope I didn't disturb you."
