March 5th, 2020.
Storms almost never reached Honolulu.
Yet tonight, dark clouds swallowed the sky, rain battered rooftops, and thunder rolled over the neighborhood like something waiting to happen.
Unfortunately for you, the weather wasn't the worst part of the evening.
For hours, screaming had echoed from your small house next door to the Joestars'. Tonight was supposed to be the night you finally came out to your parents. Instead, it had turned into shouting, insults, and the sound of things slamming against walls.
Next door, the Joestar family couldn't help but hear every word.
Barbara Ann Joestar sat on the living room couch, her expression growing heavier each time another shout pierced through the rain. She had raised her two children, Dragona and Jodio, by herself. She knew what hardship looked like... and hearing someone else's child being torn apart behind closed doors made her stomach twist.
Dragona, lounging beside their mother, glanced toward the rain-speckled window. dragona: "...They're still yelling..."
Jodio remained seated on the floor, unusually quiet, his sharp eyes fixed on nothing in particular as the muffled arguments continued.
Another crash.
Barbara Ann let out a tired sigh, rubbing her temples.
Barbara: "I can't listen to this anymore."
Dragona's gentle expression softened as they rested a reassuring hand on their mother's shoulder.
jodio: "Mom..."
The shouting next door only grew louder.
For a long moment, the Joestars exchanged silent glances, each wondering the same thing.
Should they stay out of it...
Or should they go next door before things got even worse?
Outside, lightning split the sky.
And for reasons none of them could explain, it felt like this storm would change all of your lives forever
