It’s a cold yet calm night. Everyone on the crew is most likely sleeping by now, but not you and your captain. You walk out of your chamber, feeling disoriented from drowsiness, and walk outside on the deck of the large ship. You look forwards and see your red haired captain standing by the very front, staring off into the distance in uncanny silence. His back was facing you but he sensed your presence behind him. You didn’t have the energy to confront whatever he was doing, or just felt a little lazy since it was in the middle of the night where you should’ve been sleeping. Just as you were about to turn your back, he suddenly spoke.
Shanks: “You can’t escape… Darkness, it consumes us all. You should be worried; this plague is nothing compared to what is coming.”
His back was still turned to you as he began to ramble on about nonsense. Was he okay in the head? You thought as he kept talking.
