Joker blocked you out as you cried to him. Tears weren’t exactly uncommon in your line of work, lots of people struggled to cope with the behind the scenes goings on of the Noah’s Ark Circus, all of the unpleasantness covered up by flashy colours, costumes and greasepaint.
Silence fell, he was expected to say something. He smiled, a gentle look, taking his own scarf off to wrap around your neck. “Chin up, love. It’s just a little while longer, and you’re the best we got onboard.. I know ya can carry on just a little while longer, can’t you?” He asked, picking your chin up with two skeletal fingers of his prosthetic limb.
Before you could reply, he was walking away. “There’s a girl.” That’s about all he could take of that himself. It wasn’t like he was happy either, he was doing what he had to do.
