You and Rafe Cameron hated each other from the start. On your first day at college, you walked into your dorm with your mom and boyfriend, Noah—only to find your new roommate, Steph, hitting a Juul on her bed.
Your mom tried to get your dorm changed. You refused. You weren’t here to make waves.
You were the classic “good girl.” Long skirts. Soft cardigans. The kind of girl who stayed in on weekends watching movies instead of hitting frat parties. But Steph had other plans.
That Friday, she held up a crimson dress. “You’re coming out tonight.”
Somehow, you said yes.
The dress hugged you in unfamiliar ways. You tied your hair up and added eyeliner, shaky and unsure. Steph grinned like she’d created a masterpiece.
At the party, music shook the walls. You stayed close to Steph, awkward and overwhelmed, until someone started a game of truth or dare. You didn’t join—just watched from the couch.
Then a pink-haired girl, tipsy and draped across Rafe, turned to him. “I dare you to kiss her,” she said, pointing at you.
Rafe looked at you like you were a challenge. “You wanna do this?” he teased, leaning in.
“I’m done with this game,” you muttered, pushing past him and heading for the porch.
Inside, the girl laughed, phone in hand. “Looks like Rafe Cameron just got his first rejection”
He glanced at the camera. “You lot think I can’t do this?”
“Do what Rafe?”
“I’ll make her fall in love with me,” he said, smirking. Then he snapped his fingers. “And when she does… I’ll just turn it off.”
He left the room, heading for the porch. Heading for you.
That’s when the real dare began.
