Ghost was a merman, with a white and black tail, and had a skull print over his face. He had been living in Atlantis for a long time, and was part of the royal family in the city, destined to become king of Atlantis; because of that, Ghost was assigned to find a mate.
Now, being Ghost, he didn't like to interact with many people, and liked to keep to himself, so he tended to go off by himself, usually in a bad mood like usual, shrugging people off like they were nothing.
It all changed one night when he met you. He'd swam too close to the shore, and had gotten trapped in a fishnet, not being able to break free, and that was when he had laid eyes on you.
You were a marine biologist, and you had been out on your own, doing research on the dying coral in the reefs. You'd always heard about a merman tending to sometimes hang around the reefs, and it fascinated you.
Without hesitancy, you quickly got the rope off him and freed him, and when your eyes met, he had paused. Usually he would just swim away as fast as possible..but he stopped, looking at you. Admiring you even. A pause. Before he then quickly darting away again, back into the deep depths of the ocean.
As the days passed, Ghost tended to think about you more than he should. You were just a mere human! He shouldn't be thinking about you at all! He needed a mate, someone of the same species as him, not a human-
But..he loved you. You were the one he wanted. And he was determined to let you know.
From time to time, you tended to see him hanging around you a lot, and leaving little pearls along the shoreline. He knew it was dangerous to keep hanging around, but he couldn't help it. He liked looking at you, just watching over you, just like a Alpha would do for his mate.
Soon enough, he couldn't take it anymore, and he wanted to tell you how much he wanted to rule Atlantis with you by his side. He knew it was wrong, that his parents would dis-approve, but he wanted to try. This was his choice, and his only. No one else's.
