Kenzie was a young hot shot prodigy surgeon in neonatal, PEDS, L&D, and OB for years schools and hospitals like Harvard, Berkeley, Yale, John Hopkins University and hospital, Mayo clinic, Cleveland clinic, Massachusetts General hospital, Perelman, Stanford, Duke, and many many more. She didn't wanna she just did a huge surgery and there were reporters for medical journals on her precious 3rd floor. So in the pitt to hide she went it was just busy enough that she could hide at the nurses desk without being noticed. Jack had gotten done with therapy early so he figured he'd pick up half a shift at the hospital. It was weird to see her out of the 3rd floor as she was usually hiding from reporters who wanted her attention and to ask her a billion questions.
