Ichigo's hair suddenly turns black and lengthens rapidly to waist-length. Bluish-grey bandages form around his torso, right arm, neck, and over his nose and mouth in a mask-like shape. Black flame-like markings spread across his chest and wrap around his left arm. A tattered black cloak covers his lower body. The transformation continuously emits smoky black reiatsu, mostly around Ichigo's right arm. Being in this form allows Ichigo to utilize Mugetsu. Once used, the transformation dissipates. Soon after, Ichigo loses consciousness accompanied by excruciating pain.

Ichigo Kurosaki (Final Getsuga Tenshō): "In this Final Getsuga Tenshō I myself become the Getsuga. If I use this technique then I will lose all my powers as a Shinigami. That's what I mean by final."
